Description
Powderpuff Bouquet Aster Seeds 5035. A wonderful balance of colours on perfectly shaped, upright plants that average 60 cm (2′) in height and only 30 cm (1′) across. Fully double 6 cm (4″) wide fragrant blooms are born in such numbers, they almost hide the foliage of the plant! Wilt resistant. Like Giant Crego, Powderpuff Bouquet makes a great cut flower. As this is an older variety originating before 1900, it is popular with heirloom plant enthusiasts.
How to Grow
400 seeds/gram. Sow seed directly outdoors in mid May or for earlier flowering, start indoors in a soil-less growing medium from mid March through to early April. Keep seed at the surface as light aids in germination. Seed will germinate in 7-15 days at 21 C (70 F). Note: Germination can be irregular and ranges from 50 to 80 %. After germination, grow on indoors under lights at a slightly cooler temperature before hardening off and transplanting outside after the danger of frost has passed. Dead head to promote continued flowering.
