Trillium erectum
Native to woodlands throughout North America.
Outward-facing, deep red, three-petaled flowers.
Blooms late April to May.
Grows best in a moist, well-drained, humus-rich, acidic to neutral soil, in partial to full shade. Trillium will go dormant shortly after flowering, usually early summer.
